In general CA Internet Security Suite is a heavy resource user, and even though alerts are configurable, they still interrupt and slow down your PC. Scans are deep, but don't discriminate between good and bad internet cookies, which is annoying.
CA Internet Security Suite is comprehensive, and does do what it clams. It's very easy to use, with an interface that anyone will understand. However, it's too resource hungry and intrusive to recommend wholeheartedly. CA Internet Secuity Suite. Used it and works great. It was free through Road Runner but I understand they no longer offer it. Also what version of the product do you have. I would suggest upgrading to their version. Its great..

As for the version, I'll have to get back to you, but it's probably When we called CA technical support, their only solution was to uninstall and re-install the software. I was hoping to solve the issue without resorting to that, but did what I was told.
Uninstallation did fix the problem. In a way we're lucky that the CA fault forced us to use a CD because otherwise we may not have found the hardware problem until we were out of the warranty period. Other IS packages have now consolidated AV and spyware detection in to a single module -- not so with CA Internet Security Suite Plus , which still has two separate modules for these tasks. Which means you need to perform two separate scans to detect both sorts of malware. To be fair, the spyware scan does take less than a minute. Spyware detection was so-so but the antispam module was completely effective on our 'spam magnet' e-mail account.
